THANKSGIVING INTRODUCTION

Thanksgiving has long been one of my my favorite holidays. It brings distant, seldom seen family members together from across great distances for a spectacular feast. The atmosphere of the holiday leaves a lasting and heart-warming impression. The smell of falling leaves outdoors, the cool air of autumn, the warmth of the crackling flames in the fireplace, the bustling activity in the kitchen, the scent of a cooking turkey, and the moment we all sit down to hear one of the children recite a poem by my Grandfather who is no longer with us. Then we all take a moment at the dinner table to reflect silently the things we are thankful for. It is indeed a happy time of family warmth and togetherness. And when it is over, we know it has been a wonderful holiday as we hug each other good bye. Thanksgiving is a time to let go, laugh a lot, and most of all, make memories.
